Russ Levitan joined Congregation Beth Emeth (CBE) in 2019, shortly after relocating to Virgina with his wife Sheri, and daughters Jamie and Alana.  After a “brief” delay due to COVID, he quickly established himself as a valued member of CBE’s Men’s Club.

 

When synagogue activities started up again, he took on the role of VP Communications, where he got involved in planning and running events, and got a better sense of how the Men’s Club worked and where there might be opportunities in the future.  It wouldn’t take long for him to put these plans into action, as his next role was as CBE’s Men’s Club President.

 

As President, Russ was influential in coordinating events and developing activities that both brought the membership together socially, such as the Men’s Club Kickoff NFL Watch Party, Steak & Whiskey, March Madness happy hours, and a Steak & Salmon joint program with CBE’s Sisterhood; or having the Men’s Club supporting the full congregation by soliciting members of the Club to serve as ushers for high holiday services, running grilling and food service for congregational BBQs and Purim Carnival, and of course, sponsoring and running the Yellow Candle and World Wide Wrap programs.

 

Russ would like to thank CBE’s Men’s Club for this honor, and would like to thank all the people who have supported him in his efforts that made receiving this honor possible.  He especially would like to thank his family for their love and support, and for only complaining just a little bit when he couldn’t be home because he was with Men’s Club.
