Sherry K. Padva

Sherry, her husband Ira, and daughter Amy moved to the Rivertowns in 1986 and  Sherry K. Padva  immediately joined The Greenburgh Hebrew Center.  Due to her commitment to Judaism and Jewish community life, she jumped right in serving, over the years,  as a member of our Nursery School PTA, Religious School PTA, Junior Congregation Committee, Shalach Manot Committee, Gift Shop Committee, and Rabbi Search Committee.  Sherry has been a member of the Board of Trustees for many years, and has held several offices including Vice President for Membership, Executive Secretary, and Executive Vice President.  Following her 3 years as Sisterhood president, she rose even further to become the president of our congregation and is our Immediate Past President.  As the chair of the newly formed Marketing Committee, she oversees many of the synagogue's internal and external communications.

Perhaps the position that she has been most proud of over the years is her role as the head of in-house catering and Chief Chef, who, along with other unpaid volunteers, prepares a full Kiddush luncheon for our membership every Shabbat. Sherry attends our morning minyan five days a week, as well as Shabbat services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.

Born in the Bronx, Sherry attended high school in Rockland Country.  She is a graduate of Syracuse University.  Sherry is an avid Mets and New York Giants fan as well as a Food Network devotee.  When she is not at GHC, Sherry is self-employed specializing in the field of sales incentives and promotional merchandising.
