Honorees
DR. SU YON PAK is senior director and associate professor of Integrative and Field-Based Education at Union Theological Seminary. In this hybrid faculty-administrator position, she envisions, creates, and oversees the curricular and co-curricular work of the Office of Integrative Education. Prior to her current position, she was the vice president for Institutional Advancement and the associate dean for Student Life/Director of Recruitment at Union. Dr. Pak is the chair of the Professional Conduct Taskforce and the past chair of the Status of Women in the Profession Committee of the American Academy of Religion. Dr. Pak serves on the professional advisory committee of the Center for Pastoral Education at The Jewish Theological Seminary.
NESSA RAPOPORT is senior program officer at the Charles H. Revson Foundation, where she oversees grants that focus on North American Jewish life and Israel. She joined the foundation in 2005 and has worked in the nonprofit sector since 1991, developing programs and publications in the areas of leadership education and Jewish culture in the United States and Israel. Previously, she was a senior editor at Bantam Books, where she specialized in memoirs. She is the author of a novel, Preparing for Sabbath; a collection of prose poems, A Woman’s Book of Grieving; and a memoir, House on the River: A Summer Journey. She writes and speaks frequently on Jewish culture and imagination.
JULIE SANDORF has served as president of the Charles H. Revson Foundation since January 2008. Before joining Revson, she was a co-founder and executive director of Nextbook, a national organization dedicated to the creation and promotion of Jewish literature, culture, and the arts. From 1991 through 1999, she was president of the Corporation for Supportive Housing, an organization she founded that worked to deliver permanent solutions to chronic homelessness. Previously, she was a program director at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, where she forged a groundbreaking public-private partnership to revitalize distressed neighborhoods throughout New York City.
VICTORIA E. SCHONFELD is a member of the Center for Pastoral Education Advisory Board. She began her career as a corporate and financial services lawyer. She was a partner in several national law firms and general counsel of a global asset management firm. After 30 years as a lawyer, Victoria joined the American Jewish Committee to lead its strategic planning process and financial operations and then, as chief operating officer, oversaw the full implementation of the strategic plan. Victoria was a Wexner Heritage fellow. Throughout her career, Victoria has been deeply involved as a lay leader in a diverse array of non-profit organizations.
