Rav Yonason Sacks
Rosh HaYeshiva, Lander College for Men
Rav Yonason Sacks serves as Rosh HaYeshiva of Beis Medrash L’Talmud at Lander College for Men, a role he assumed following his tenure as Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS).
A descendant of Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank, former Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, and Rabbi Menachem Sacks, a pioneer in Jewish education, Rav Sacks continues a proud family legacy of Torah leadership. He is a prolific author, having published numerous seforim on halacha, Gemara, Chumash, and machshava, and is widely respected for his depth of scholarship and clarity of thought.
At Lander College for Men, Rav Sacks is dedicated to cultivating an environment where Torah learning and academic excellence complement each other. He guides students to balance spiritual growth with professional achievement, preparing them to become ethical leaders in their communities and professions. Rav Sacks also serves as the Rav of Agudas Yisroel Bircas Yaakov in Passaic, New Jersey.

Rav Yosef Sonnenschein
Menahel, Lander College for Men
As Menahel of Beis Medrash L’Talmud at Lander College for Men, Rav Yosef Sonnenschein provides spiritual guidance, educational leadership, and mentorship to the yeshiva’s students.
Rav Sonnenschein studied at Yeshivas Rabbi Chaim Berlin in Brooklyn and its affiliate, Yeshiva Pachad Yitzchak in Jerusalem, where he received semicha. He has devoted his career to teaching, community leadership, and chinuch, serving as the Mora d’Asrah of Khal B’nai Shalom in Waterbury, Connecticut, and previously as a Rebbe at Yeshiva Ateres Shmuel of Waterbury since its founding.
He has also served as Mashgiach Ruchani at Camp Heller for 15 years and is currently Mora d’Asrah at Camp Shoresh. Since joining Lander College for Men, Rav Sonnenschein has strengthened the yeshiva’s learning culture and community spirit, fostering meaningful relationships with students and inspiring them toward continued Torah and personal growth.
