As children, Linda and Howard grew up not far from each other at a Reform congregation, Temple Emanuel of East Meadow. When they moved to Roslyn they became members of the Conservative congregation, Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation and have been proud to call it their Jewish home for the past twenty-five years. They enjoy being involved in the life of the synagogue and Linda is a past president and board member. In 2001, Linda became an adult Bat Mitzvah.  

 

Linda is a licensed architect and ran her own architecture practice until 2011 when she joined United Synagogue (USCJ) as the METNY Synagogue Consultant. She is liaison to the almost 100 Conservative synagogues in the METNY District.  The role allows her to use her twenty years of experience in nonprofit work.  Linda’s position as the Roslyn Achot Hadassah president laid the foundation for much of her future non-profit work.

 

Howard is a general surgeon currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he is responsible for overseeing the quality of care provided in the hospital and helping develop new programs to support the community. Prior to that, Howard began his surgical practice in Rockville Centre, LI in 1989 where he developed a special interest in breast health. As his practice progressed, Howard assumed various leadership roles including the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Mercy Medical Center. In 2006 he became the Director of the Department of Surgery and Surgery Residency Program at the Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway until he joined St. Joseph in 2012.

 

Howard serves on the Board of Trustees of the Harold I. and Faye B. Liss Foundation which is a charitable trust established by his great aunt. The Foundation was one of the original donors to the Yozma-Nativ program in 2015 and has been proud to continue its support of the program as well as many other Jewish and social causes.

 

Howard and Linda are most proud of their children, Joshua, Lindsay, Evan, Heather & Nicole, and newest addition Ari, L’Dor V’Dor ~ From generation to generation, may they have a love of learning, Judaism and feel the joy of helping others as we do.
