Tamara & Stephen Wagner
Community Service Award

Both Stephen and Tamara are blessed to have come from families who have devoted and sacrificed for Jewish causes.  Tamara’s grandfather, Rabbi Dr. Samuel Belkin, former president of Yeshiva University, is renowned for his brilliance, leadership and creativity, but less known for his tremendous acts of chesed in the assistance given to the post-Holocaust Rabbinic and lay refugees.  Stephen’s parents and grandparents (the Wagner and Bienenfeld families) are well-known for their tzedakah and positions in communal leadership.

Stephen and Tamara were introduced to Reuth by Israeli board member Yair Friedman, a business associate of Steve’s, who encouraged them to take a tour of the facility.  That was all it took.  Since then, they have been active supporters of Reuth, and have hosted fund raising events in their community.  Steve is a proud board member of the American Friends.

Steve and Tamara have lived in Woodmere, L.I., for the past 30 years.  Steve is a vice president of the Young Israel of Woodmere, and has served on various boards of their local Yeshivot.  He is a founding partner of the Manhattan law firm of Cohen Tauber Spievack & Wagner, where he heads the commercial litigation department.  Tamara runs her own skin care business.  They are the proud parents of Yael (and Rabbi Chaim) Axelrod, Ilana (and Daniel) Krausz, Michal (and Joseph) Kramer, Shmuel (and Sari) Wagner, and Judah Wagner.
