At this year’s Dinner Dance 2020 we will be presenting the very first annual

Rabbi Geoffrey A. Spector Atid Award.

Atid is the Hebrew word for future. Rabbi Spector has dedicated his entire professional life to securing the future of Judaism in all of the communities he has served.  For the past 15 years, he has devoted himself to strengthening the future of Temple Beth Shalom and our Jewish community.

This award will be presented annually to that person in our community who has made significant contributions to ensuring a strong Jewish future and exemplifies the values to which Rabbi Spector has dedicated his life’s work.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2020 recipient of this award is Andy Muser.

Andy became a member of TBS as a young child with his parents and siblings in 1986, and became a bar mitzvah on our bima in 1992.  Andy and his wife, Jamie, joined Temple Beth Shalom in 2009 and are raising their children, Brandon and Izzy, as he was - in the arms of our community.

Andy was first elected as a member of the Board of Trustees in 2012, and then as a Vice President in 2017.  He has served as chairperson of many important TBS events, including Celebrity Night, Golf Outings, and A Night of Jewish Baseball.  He has also spearheaded the Dinner Dance Silent Auctions for the past 8 years. In addition to traveling with his family to Israel twice with TBS, Andy was selected as one of eight young Jewish leaders in New Jersey to participate in a VIP Mission to Israel.

We thank Andy Muser for his continued leadership and valued contributions to our synagogue and the greater Jewish community, and wish him a Yasher Koach on this well-deserved award!
