ABOUT

Westchester Reform Temple’s Book of Remembrance is used whenever Yizkor is recited during the holidays of Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot. Adding the names of your loved ones is a wonderful way to keep their memories alive throughout the year. Yahrzeit candles are lit in the evenings preceding these holidays, as well as on the yahrzeit or anniversary of their death. This year our Book of Remembrance will be accessible in digital format because of our changes in worship for the 5781 High Holidays.

Westchester Reform Temple’s Memorial Wall, which borders a serene and lovely garden, displays the names of congregants’ beloved relatives who have passed away. Each week, we reverently commemorate the yahrzeit of your loved ones by placing a stone brought from Jerusalem next to the memorial plaque.

Families may also place stones themselves as they enter temple to recite Kaddish prayers at services. If you are interested in adding a memorial plaque to the wall just outside our Sanctuary entrance, please contact Amy Rossberg, Pastoral Care Coordinator at [email protected] or 914-723-7727.
