Myriam Ackermann Sommer
Myriam Ackermann Sommer, M.A., is a Sorbonne (Paris) alumna and is currently completing her PhD in Jewish American literature. She teaches English at the Sorbonne and at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin and works part time as a translator. She co-created a partnership minyan in Paris and is to be the first Orthodox female rabbi in France. Myriam co-founded Kol-Elles, an institution whose purpose is to further Jewish women’s Torah education in France, initiating them to Talmud, Halacha, and Hashkafa. Born in Southern France and currently living in Paris, Myriam is the proud mother of Elisheva and is married to Emile Ackermann.
