Our Honorees
Rabbi James and Sarah Proops
Ever since September 2017, when Rabbi James and Sarah moved from London to assume the position of Associate Rabbi and Rebbitzen of our Shul we have been blessed with their leadership and guidance, helping our Shul continue to grow and thrive.
During the past year, as we confronted Covid-19, Rabbi James and Sarah played an essential role in directing the Shul through all the complications the pandemic presented. Working hand in hand with Rabbi Muskin, Rabbi Proops organized the plans to reopen the Shul after the lockdown and has overseen the daily routine of keeping our Shul and satellite Minyanim safe and efficient.
Constantly creating new programming, with a focus on our Young Community Minyan (YCM), Rabbi and Sarah have helped fashion a dynamic community where serious Tefilah and Talmud Torah together with enjoyable social events are part and parcel of the YICC experience.
As a token of our appreciation and gratitude the Shul is presenting Rabbi James and Sarah with our 2021 Leadership Award.
Please join us in saluting them by participating in this Tribute Campaign and submitting a journal ad in their honor.
Allan & Sara Sternberg
From 2008-2011 our Shul was blessed to have Allan Sternberg as our president. Allan earned the distinction of being the youngest president of a major Orthodox Shul in America. With the support and encouragement of his wife, Sara, Allan devoted his time and energy in helping us acquire the Supercuts property for our building expansion. During his tenure we appointed Rabbi Zev and Dr. Michal Goldberg as our second Assistant Rabbi and Rebbitzen.
Allan has remained active in the leadership of the Shul, serving on the Shul’s Board of Directors, while Sara chaired and continues to be involved in our Mishloach Manot project. During the pandemic, Allan accepted the leadership of the Committee to oversee the reopening of the Shul after the nationwide lockdown. He worked hand in hand with Rabbis Muskin and Proops, establishing protocols for a safe environment at each Minyan. He also helped create the layout of our Shul Minyanim for last year’s unprecedented Yamim Noraim.
Without fanfare, Allan and Sara generously support our Shul. As an expression of our great appreciation for all that they have done on our behalf we are proud to present to them the Shul’s 2021 Tribute Award.
Please join us in saluting Allan and Sara by participating in our Tribute Campaign and submitting a journal ad in their honor.
