2023 Recognizing Excellence Annual Awards
 
Tonight Hudson Milestones honors the recipients of our Recognizing Excellence Annual Awards.  These awards provide an opportunity for Hudson Milestones to formally acknowledge many of the organizations and individuals who help the agency to continue to provide quality services to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities throughout Hudson County.  The recipients of the awards were chosen from a large number of impressive nominees submitted in each award category.  Final selections were made by Hudson Milestones’ Board of Directors.  These award winners have been patiently waiting since 2020 to be honored!
  • The Patricia O’Donnell Memorial Community Volunteer of the Year Award honors a Hudson County individual whose community involvement has helped Hudson Milestones accomplish its mission.  It is presented in memory of former Board Director Emeritus, Patricia O’Donnell.  This award is being presented posthumously in memory of Edward Rutkowski.
     
  • The William C. La Greca Memorial Community Volunteer of the Year Award honors a Hudson County individual whose community involvement has helped Hudson Milestones accomplish its mission.  It is presented in memory of former Board President, William La Greca. This year’s recipient is Unemployment Cost Control, specifically Adam Swartz, Industrial U.I. Services.
     
  • The Deborah Lorenzetti Professional of the Year Award honors a staff member of Hudson Milestones who has demonstrated outstanding sensitivity and the ability to provide quality services which results in increased independence for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  It is presented in honor of former Chief Executive Officer, Deborah Lorenzetti. This year’s recipient is Kathleen Ruiz, Director of Day Support Services.
     
  • The Ann Vrola Memorial Citizenship Award honors an individual who has an intellectual/developmental disability, resides in Hudson County and has distinguished him/herself by contributing to and participating fully in the community. This year’s recipient is Michael Nardini.
     
  • The Nat S. Amadeo Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award honors that rare individual, who has over a prolonged period of years, displayed outstanding and exemplary effort and commitment to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities from Hudson County.  It is presented in memory of former Board President, Nat Amadeo, Esq..  This year’s recipient is Arlene Rutkowski, Board Chairman.
