Message from the Kohelet Yeshiva Leadership Team

It gives us great pleasure to extend a heartfelt Mazel Tov to the honorees at Kohelet Yeshiva’s 22nd Annual Gala.

Baruch Hashem, our school has achieved incredible growth over the past several years. As a thriving K-12 institution with state-of-the-art facilities, we are proud to offer an outstanding educational experience in Judaic and General Studies, opportunities that foster religious growth, a hi-tech fabrication laboratory, and an array of programming that includes music, art, and sports. We have much to be thankful for, and it is due to the selfless dedication of our volunteers, supporters, and staff that we are able to celebrate the advancements we have made as a school community.

Our Guests of Honor, Debra and David Magerman, have been instrumental in facilitating the growth and development of Kohelet Yeshiva. Their incredible vision, great generosity, and unending commitment to Jewish life and learning have enabled us to provide a first-rate education for this and future generations, and we owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude for their extraordinary efforts on behalf of our school, our students, and our community. Debra and David are pillars of our community and leaders in every sense of the word. We are so appreciative of all that they have done, and continue to do, for Kohelet Yeshiva.

Tamar and Josh Katz, the recipients of the Young Leadership Award, epitomize what it means to be active and engaged members of our Kohelet Yeshiva family. On top of their professional commitments, they make being involved in tzarchei tzibbur, the needs of the community, a centerpiece of their lives. The parents of three current KYLS students, they have both served in several volunteer roles in our school, including Tamar’s service as a member of the lower school education committee and Josh’s frequent appearances at STEM activities across Kohelet’s different divisions. We are extremely grateful for all that they do for our school.

Julia Buonagurio, who is receiving the Distinguished Faculty Award, has been a beloved and integral member of our staff since arriving at Kohelet Yeshiva in 2018. Ms. Buonagurio’s contributions to our school are not just limited to the classroom where she teaches a range of science courses; she also helps spearhead the Student Activities programming. She is deeply involved in planning and executing creative, fun, and meaningful activities and events for our students. A master teacher and mentor who always puts the needs of her students first, Ms. Buonagurio is a shining example of what an educator should be, and we are pleased to recognize her with this award.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Kohelet Yeshiva and for being our partners on this exciting and fulfilling journey of educating your children.

Warmly,

Mr. Alan Joffe
