Rabbi Jeffrey Abel
Guest of Honor

For nearly four decades, Rabbi Jeffrey Abel has been inspiring talmidim with his warm, enthusiastic and genuine approach to chinuch.  His ability to infuse Torah learning with positivity and relevance makes his shiur engaging and meaningful.  Hundreds of young men describe their cherished rebbe’s excitement for learning, clear and well-planned notes, deliberate and measured words, and signature humor as hallmarks of his engaging teaching style.

Above all, Rabbi Abel’s personal relationship with his talmidim gives each of them the knowledge that he sincerely cares, further fueling their growth.  Beyond the classroom and well past graduation, Rabbi Abel remains in close contact with many of his former talmidim, speaking with them regularly, learning with them, and participating in their family lifecycle events.

Rabbi Abel devotes each day to helping his talmidim - past and present - grow as yirei shamayim and baalei middos. For all of his students, he is never more than a phone call away, which Rabbi Abel always concludes with a bracha for hatzlacha and the hope that “we should continue to be in touch.”

Rabbi Abel grew up in Hartford, CT., attended the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy (MTA), earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yeshiva College and semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS). Rabbi Abel learned in kollel before joining the Jewish Educational Center as a rebbe in 1985.
