The Blue Yarmulke Person of the Year from Congregation Shaare Tikvah Men’s Club this year is Howie Levin. Howie is first and foremost a loving, devoted husband, and an adoring father and grandfather. Howie is a very active member at Congregation Shaare Tikvah serving on the congregational board and being a key member of our Men’s Club.

For over 25 years, Howie has been preparing Shaare Tikvah for the High Holidays by shining all the Torah ornaments and adorning the synagogue with bouquets of flowers. Moving towards Hanukah, Howie is known as our “Latke King,” as he has been solely responsible for every lake eaten at Shaare Tikvah for years. For the annual Shaare Tikvah Baffle Bowl between the Sisterhood and the Men’s Club, Howie becomes our Italian chef cooking up pots of spaghetti pasta for our evening affair. In addition to supporting all the Men’s Club activities, Howie always brings his cheery and affable disposition, enhancing every Shabbat and Shaare Tikvah event he attends.

Howie is endearing and engaging to all who know him, thereby making it the honor of the Shaare Tikvah’s Men’s Club to select Howie Levin as our Blue Yarmulke Man-of-the-Year.
