Gary Pretsfelder is Co-Head of School/Principal at Schechter Manhattan and one of our longest-serving faculty members. Gary is a graduate of the Day School Leadership Training Institute (DSLTI) at the Jewish Theological Seminary and has a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Gary has mentored aspiring administrators in Jewish Day Schools around the country through his work at The Educational Leadership Advancement Initiative (ELAI) at the Lookstein Center of Bar Ilan University in Israel and through the Legacy Heritage Teacher Leadership Program at Brandeis University. Gary is deeply proud of the work and education at Schechter Manhattan and has been influenced and touched over the years by all of his colleagues with whom he has partnered to create this special school community.
