For more than five years, Esta has chaired the WLCJ Calendar Diaries and collaborated with Karen Ballena, a dedicated weekly collaboration that begins each year after the High Holidays. A passionate advocate for the future of our movement, she also serves as an Ambassador for the Torah Fund Legacy Society.

Esta’s WLCJ journey began at her home sisterhood, Temple Israel in Natick, MA, where she served in numerous leadership roles–from Judaica Shop Chair and Programming VP to Parliamentarian. Her leadership extended into the Region, where she served as Torah Fund VP, Region President, and Nominating Chair. For Esta, the most rewarding part of her WLCJ experience has been the deep lifelong friendships formed with fellow Past Region Presidents and their spouses through their shared travels.

Outside of her leadership roles, Esta is a hospice volunteer and a member of her local egalitarian Hevra Kadisha. She is an avid cook and baker, and finds her "therapy" in the art of quilting. She and her husband, Barry, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of two children: Charley, their eldest, who resides in Boston, and Alyse, who lives in Oakland, CA, with her husband Cory and their "grand-dog," Shishito.
