If you know Edna, you will know that she is someone who can be called upon to get the job done. She comes from a heritage of leadership in Jewish organizations and is fiercely loyal to the cause.
Edna is a WLCJ Consultant, Makom B’Yachad Co-Chair, Jewels in the Crown Co-Chair, and served as WL Convention 2023 Chair. And is most proud of being a Central Great Lakes Region Past President.
Edna has been Sisterhood President of two Sisterhoods. Her current and beloved Sisterhood is Congregation Beth Shalom in Northbrook, IL (a suburb of Chicago), where she has held many positions prior to President. She continues to be active on the Board. Through her participation at Congregation Beth Shalom and Women’s League, Edna now reads Torah and is honored to do Hagbah!
Edna is a member of the CBS Executive Committee and holds the office of Membership Vice President and is on the Board of Trustees and the Ritual and Social Action Committees. She has the honor of being a judge in the CBS USY Chili Cook-off for many years.
Edna is a Board member of Women’s Philanthropy (Board) of Jewish United Fund of Chicago.
Edna was married to Mike, z”l, for 42 years and has a son, Seth, who is married to Lani, who is CBS Sisterhood Immediate President, and a daughter, Francie, who is married to David. Seth and Lani are the very proud parents of Mira and Reuben and Francie and David are the very proud parents of Lila and Zoe, and of course, makes Edna an exceptionally proud grandmother.
She gets tremendous joy in teaching her grandchildren to bake and to pass on family delicacies.
