Judy Fisher, a member of Sinai Temple Sisterhood in Los Angeles, CA, is a proud member of Pacific Southwest Region. Over the years she has held many region positions, including four terms as Treasurer. Judy is now PSW’s Financial Secretary. A past president of her sisterhood, she currently serves as Treasurer/Financial Secretary, Development Co-VP, Parliamentarian, Catering Chair, Registration Chair, and Check-in Committee Chair. Judy also is known affectionately as the “computer guru.”  Judy is a frequent speaker and trainer for Treasurers and Financial Secretaries.

Professionally, Judy was a Computer Programmer, designing, writing and teaching the users the programs she wrote for them. She worked in aerospace, and also with engineers designing offshore oil rigs, manufacturing systems, and many other systems. Users loved is that she learned and communicated with their language, instead of resorting to “computer-eeze.”
After working for others for 20 years, Judy started her own computer consulting services in 1985. She has been trying in vain to retire for many years.

Judy started volunteering at the age of six, when her family moved to Papago Park, AZ. She still remembers walking across a dry riverbed to visit the orphans at an Indian reservation. She has volunteered most of her life. In addition to her many sisterhood positions, Judy is President of two condo associations, a board member of her square dance club and Treasurer and Insurance Director of Associated Square Dancers. She inherited Animal Guardians (a non-profit helping other non-profits throughout the world working to banish cruelty to animals) and currently is the sole board member, providing service as CEO, President, Secretary. Treasurer, and so on.

Judy currently lives in West Los Angeles with Liba, her little Yorkipoo, which she adopted two years ago.
