Noa Bitansky, born and raised in Springfield, has always loved going to shul at Congregation Israel of Springfield. She has spent many hours in the building, first as one of the early attendees of “shul school”, and later as an active youth group leader. Noa is beloved by the children she works with, all of whom enjoy the entertaining and fun learning experiences she provides every Shabbos.

As a senior at Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School, Noa takes pride in her volunteer work and extracurricular activities. She has prioritized the importance of contributing to others, serving as president of the school’s Habitat for Humanity club, participating in the homelessness awareness club and serving as a peer leader to support incoming ninth graders in their transition to high school. Noa also took the initiative to found a club which partners with the Afya Foundation, helping to sort medical supplies for countries impacted by wars or natural disasters. Outside of school, she works at the Chabad of Short Hills, teaching Hebrew to local children.

Upon graduation, Noa hopes to spend a year in Israel studying in seminary and cultivating her love of Judaism. She then plans to attend college and major in psychology, with the goal of pursuing a career as a psychiatrist.

Noa is grateful to the Tammam family for giving her the honor of being the 2024 Joseph Tammam Memorial Youth Community Service Scholarship recipient.
